A little painting that has been trapped in my brain for years and years, and I finally decided to let the poor thing out. I've always been inspired by the beauty of nature, and in the fall season the trees in my neighborhood are all stunning. My favourite in the fall is the Ash tree, which looks like it's lit from within with it's leaves being yellow underneath and red/purple in the tops. I didn't quite get across the striking beauty of these deciduous trees, but it was a good interpretation.
This was also an exercise in NOT blending like mad with my paint. I used thick paint and just let the brush strokes be as they were, forming shapes with the colour. It's a really different look, I like it. Usually I take forever, using this glazes of paint to build up colour. That can look good too, but I need to loosen up a little. ^^
This painting is TINY, about 3" X 3" on a piece of scrap mat board. So this portion of the full painting is about the size of a dime.
The feel of this piece is very soothing. Lovely job.

You cant tell other people how to feel, you just cant. Someone will cry; thats fine. Others may choose to laugh, and guess what? Thats okay too. Plus, you dont know whats going on inside peoples heads. -Dr. Cox-
