Collaberation between myself and ! She made the gorgeous lineart, and I put my acrylics to them on illustration board. =3 I found out she was going to All Fur Fun, and decided to approach her for a collaberation. Since I admire her art quite a bit, I was THRILLED when she said yes. I've never done a collaberation like this before, so this was quite a challenge, but also really enjoyable.

Kacey and I are both selling 8 1/2" X 11" prints of this piece, and the original will be for sale at AFF.

I LOVE IT!!! Very nicely done. I can hardly believe that I can still fold a paper crane. I learned how when I was in the fourth grade. I'm now in college. ;)

How do you do acrylics? Do you do the background first, put in flats or something else?

Sorry about the questions, it's just that you do such a great job with paintings and I'm a total beginner.

I start with the background, putting in flat clours (usually the darker ones and filling in the lighter and more saturated colours in layers). The last thing painted is the figure, using the same technique. =3

Ah, so basically, flats first, then gradually do details?
