In Memoriam by Shadow-Wolf In Memoriam by Shadow-Wolf
In memoriam to those lost on 9/11, and to those lost at Columbine in 1999. Two tall tree to symbolize the twin towers, and 13 columbine blossoms, one for each victim at Columbine High. Our loved ones are still with us as long as we remember them...

I've been working on this piece for a while now, a large acrylic commission for Nevermint. I had a lot of setbacks, both technically and schedule wise that made this one take a lot longer than I planned. This was also a really emotional piece for me to paint. I am not afraid to admit I cried on and off during it's creation. I hope I did the concept justice!

11" X 14" acrylic on Illustration board

This reminds me of the poppies in Flanders Fields. This is very touching. :salute: :flagus:

Very touching and beautiful! I love that you put the spirits next to the living figure, instead of just having him mourning alone. Spirits go on and they never leave us.

I'm about to cry just looking at it and knowing what all of the symbolism means. Amazing job! I hope I can touch people as much with my own art, some day.
