Assignemtn number two for Conceptual Illustration class. This goes to a REALLY boring article about the purpose of a refridgerator, and how to maintain one. *yawn* We had to make some eye catching or at least somewhat interesting illustration to go with it, and still pertain mostly to the subject matter. I ultimatly chose a cliche arctic animal to portray cold-ness, and a sandwich for the food part. Kinda far away from the article, but at least I had fun with it.
Done in acrylic and a TEENY bit of coloured pencil touch up (like a few strokes, this is not a coloured pencil piece). Critique discouraged because I get all the critique I ever need for a single piece in class. Besides, I know that background is super sloppy, it bugs me because I would have rather had a smoother gradient. It's not like I can't do a better gradient, that's easy with drybrushing. I just didn't care too much at that point, it was 5 in the morning and I just wanted a shower before I went to class. XD
I decided not to upload my first project for class because it's super boring subject matter (Donald Trump with a big dollar sign flag standing on the moon). It's also my first all acrylic thing in a long time, so I look at it now I feel like I can do a WAY better job if I did it again.
this is delicious sammich, you must eat it! lovely!

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
