I've been kicking this character around my head for over a year, going through a bunch of little stories and ideas, not really knowing what to do with her. When I saw the Iron Man movie, I knew where she fit! I wanted her to be an original character, not linked to any existing universe (not a fan character), but she fits so well in the Marvel Universe with Iron Man and the Avengers Initiative. I may still create a parallel Kinsey who isn't a Marvel character, but I wanted to do this first.

I'll admit, it's because I'm a raving mad Iron Man fan. XD

Kinsey is a mutant whose body acts as a power generator keyed into her emotions. When she gets upset, she zorches everything around her. To make matters worse, she's a VERY emotional person! She has a pretty unremarkable chidhood, with parents that were very accepting of her mutant powers. He father was a pilot in the US airforce, and her mother the daughter of an airforce general. Despite her stable upbringing, she was found in a prison made for mutants, having been locked up for loosing her temper and destroying half of her surroundings entirely on accident. She has little control.

She is "adopted" by Tony Stark who designs Power Absoroption Cells (PACs) and implants them along her spine to help her control her powers. After a great deal of training, it becomes apparent she is a long way from being able to control her powers properly. Not wanting to waste her incredible powers, Stark creates an "Iron Girl" armor that utilizes the power stored in the PACs. In this new guise, she goes by "Spark" and becomes part of team Borealis (Alaska's team) under the Avengers Initiative.
