Threads of the Heart by Shadow-Wolf Threads of the Heart by Shadow-Wolf
Uploading some art I finished a while ago while I work on commissions. Completed a couple of weeks ago, doodle that went overboard. =3 No real explaination here, just thought it would look neat!

I have fine art prints being made over at Artpots: [link]

Marker/graphite on bristol board

I really like how you did the fur. It almost looks like feathers. Also, great use of orange. =)

I was just wondering, I have adored this drawing for a loooong time, is there any way to get a print. Large like poster 24x36? I would so pay handsomely for it.

I love the colours you've used - and how fluent those "threads" are - really lovely work. I'd love to buy the original at some time xDD

This remains my favorite piece from you by far. :) The elegance in her movement and the feministic yet masculin appearance makes it possible to be either gender. The bright orange against the creamy white of the fur creates some interesting contrast. The feather-like fur ( like the mane ) reminds me of your fursona, miss Wolf Nymph. And last but not least, the back paws complete the character.

This is such a beautifully detailed piece! I love how you made the threads almost meld together and the few patches of orangeish red fur on her body really balance out the color.

err "on art spots" is what I meant to make of that.

Sorry to start a new conversation on this piece... I'm just wondering if you'd give me any feedback here... I just wonder if art spots is better or if you simply never tried out DA before.....

um, it's a little weird to copy people. ^^; You might want to try drawing stuff from your own imagination. It's more fun.

well i change the colors and stuff and it turns out when i draw something the shape of things get more familiar to me and i can draw better in different positions............. oh well....

It's not really ok to copy other artists, even if you change the colors. It kind of cheats off their own had work. The way artists learn is by drawing from life and from compilated photographic references (aka, not copying one photo but drawing independantly after you've looked at several photos of the same thing). That's how I learned. It's better to draw from life anyway, because it lets you develope your own style better and gives you a REAL sense of how things are shaped and how to draw them.

I don't want you to think it's a bother, I understand. Maybe you're in a spot like I am, an artblock spot where it's hard to think of stuff to draw and whatnot? Happens sometime...

I love open pieces! Open in the way that the body is open in some way. This one is great! Must take a lot of practice to show the threads of the heart without actually dying of it. :)
Great work!

man... your bristol + marker + graphite makes my watercolor look like last nights lasagna after a run-in with botulism

which, isn't a bad thing... just pushes me to try harder... and hopefully more often :-L

lol! XD Thank you so much! Watercolor takes a really long time, PAINTING in general takes a long time. Markers are like the faster cousin's of watercolors, who swear a lot and drives poorly. ><;

man! so THAT'S why the remind me of my father. xD

"That's one mother of a watercolor!"
"I know! And since the graphite has no markers on it, that makes it also a complete bastard (since it has not father)"
"Totally!"
*and the art teacher gives everyone A's for being creative*
